Income !
It's odd how embarrassed we English are by the subject of money and it is indeed with trepidation that I write this!
Many of you will already know the situation with our income but we wish to be open about it, especially for the kind few who regularly support us.
 
Income
Penny and I rely very much on the income from fostering as our mainstay. Penny has a part-time employment and of course we get some benefits for Kristy. We are also very grateful to those who already regularly or intermittently support us. (Malc has been getting some casual work which has paid well and he hopes for more).
 
Losses
Malc was part-time with Reading Boiler Room until last November which means that we have lost a significant amount a month.
Also recently our old church stopped supporting us for the youth work that Penny does in town. They had been very generous, but with the demise of youth work at the Boiler Room it is fully understandable that they have reviewed this.
 
Shortfall
So all in all we now have a shortfall of income to live on and in particular to support any travel that Malc may do. We currently have negative income, repairs to do to the house and a car (Penny's) which is on its last legs!
 
Catch 22
If Malc were to get a regular job he would not be free to travel or do any of the prayer support work that he does. Those of you who support us might well then stop giving as we would have stopped doing what you've supported us for!
Malc would be happy to go out and look for some part-time work, hopefully keeping it to very flexible hours.
Fostering ( non school attending teenager ) has become a 24-7 occupation and Malc does spend quite a bit of time transporting our foster daughter to and from meetings - and needs to be available to do that.
 
Ideal
We both believe that God has called Malc to, if anything, travel more, not less. His passion for praying for other cities and nations is undiminished and invitations and connections are growing. He has felt humbled of late at being present at some gatherings which have felt very significant. Ideally we would like to see him travelling once a month.

Updates
We do not want to inundate people with email so we try to keep updates to a minimum. Malc runs several different mailing lists, for more and less frequent mailings, so do say if you would like to be added.
